SteelPixels ("we," "us," "our") provides technology consulting and services for small and mid-sized businesses. Our services are intended for business users and prospective business clients, not for household or personal consumer use. This policy explains what we collect on our website and how we use it.

What we collect

• Contact details you share (name, email, phone, business name, city/area).
• Messages and form submissions you send us, including Leak Map requests, questions, business details, preferred contact method, and any information you include in the form.
• Preferences (what you're working on, preferred contact method).
• Technical data (IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, referring site).
• Call/text/voicemail metadata if you call or text our business number (time, duration, number).
• Client data we process on your behalf during projects (e.g., site content, listings, product info).

For client project data we process on behalf of a client, the client is generally responsible for ensuring it has the rights, notices, and consents needed for us to process that data.

How we use it

• To respond to inquiries, schedule calls, provide your Leak Map or other requested help, and communicate with you by call, text, or email where permitted.
• To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our site, including through basic analytics, event tracking, error logs, spam prevention, and related operational tools.
• To keep basic records, invoices, and comply with law.

SMS texting (your choice)

If you choose Text as your contact method, you agree to receive text messages related to your request. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Standard message/data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Lawful basis (EEA/UK visitors)

We process personal data based on consent, contract (providing requested services), and legitimate interests, including site security, analytics/event tracking, spam prevention, troubleshooting, and business records.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that help run our business and website, including website hosting/deployment, form submission processing and storage, email delivery, file storage, analytics/event tracking, spam prevention, security, and related operational tools. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
• Professional advisors (accounting/legal) and as required by law or to protect rights.

AI-assisted work

When you explicitly ask us to draft, edit, analyze, or improve content, we may use AI-assisted tools to help. When we do, we try to limit the information shared to what is reasonably necessary for the task and use available privacy controls where appropriate. We do not intentionally submit client confidential information to public AI systems for training purposes. You may ask us not to use AI-assisted tools for a particular item.

Cookies & analytics

The Site may use basic analytics, event tracking, error logging, or platform-provided tools to understand site performance, usage, and technical issues. We do not use this information to sell personal information or run cross-site behavioral advertising.

Our contact / Leak Map form is processed through a form service provider, currently Web3Forms, which may process and store the information you submit so it can deliver the request to us and help prevent spam or abuse.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If the underlying platform sets strictly necessary cookies or basic analytics/session cookies for functionality, security, spam prevention, or performance, those are used to operate and improve the Site. You can adjust cookie settings in your browser. We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track."

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above — including to provide services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Typical retention periods include:

• Inquiries and Leak Map submissions: up to 24 months.
• Client project records: while active + 3 years.
• Website technical, security, form, analytics/event, and operational records: retained as reasonably needed for site operation, security, troubleshooting, business records, and legal compliance.

We will keep data longer if needed to meet legal or accounting duties.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No method is 100% secure.

Children

Our site is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit your data — and to opt out of targeted advertising or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

We are in the U.S. Your info may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.
